Strategies & playbooks

Define entry criteria and rules once, assign trades to it, and get hard data on how well you actually follow your own plan.

Go to Playbook, click New Strategy, and define a name, description, category, timeframes, sessions, and instruments. Once trades are assigned, Tradestar tracks how well you actually followed your own rules, not just your P&L.

The Playbook page's empty state, with starter templates (IB 50, Opening Range Breakout) and Start from scratch

What a strategy tracks

Entry criteria are the conditions that should be true before you take the trade, a pre-trade checklist while you're journalling. Rules are the discipline checkpoints ("Waited for confirmation candle," "Risk under 1%," "Stopped after 3 losses"), when reviewing a trade you mark which ones you followed, and that builds your adherence score.

Status

Every strategy is Testing, Active, or Retired. New strategies (including ones built from a starter template) begin as Testing so you can validate them before promoting to Active. Filter by status from the tabs at the top of the Playbook page, it opens on Active by default, so a brand-new Testing strategy won't show there until you switch tabs or promote it.
