By Friday you remember the week you meant to have. The journal keeps the one you actually had, every trade already on the page when you sit down, so the ten minutes after the close go to thinking, not typing.
Dates, fills, P&L, win rate, streak, landed before you sit down. Your job is the sentence underneath: why you took it, what you saw, what you’d do again. Every reflection is anchored to the execution behind it, so “I traded well today” has to survive contact with the receipts.
Market gapped through the 5-min ORB on NFP at 8:30. I sat. I actually sat.
Took the London breakout on NAS100. Clean R:R, closed at +$190.
Three back-to-back wins on XAUUSD. Trust the level, trust the setup.
Revenge-traded after the first loss. Should have walked. Closed the day red.
Biggest day this month. Sized up on the confirmed break, rode the trend.
Friday wind-down. Two small wins, called it at lunch.
Market gapped through the 5-min ORB on NFP at 8:30. I sat. I actually sat. The setup was there on XAUUSD at 9:47 but the spread was doubled — my rule says no fills at 2× spread, so I passed.
Switched to NAS100 for the London retest. Clean reject off the high of day, sized right, held the runner through the pullback. Closed at the 1.4R target — no deviation.
Took the London session on XAUUSD. Price swept the pre-market high at $2,384 and rejected into the prior day's range, waited for the retest instead of front-running the wick. Entry was slower than I wanted, but the structure held and the first push paid 1.2R before I trailed.
The wick through the pre-market high was what gave it away. Buyers couldn't defend the reclaim on the 5m close, and the sellers stepped in exactly where the H1 order block sat. Textbook, if I was willing to wait for the book to open.
Tomorrow: wait for the book to open before clicking. That was the whole edge today.
Bold, italic, lists, headings, every shortcut your fingers already know. Paste a chart between two paragraphs and it stays exactly there. Type /mood for how you felt, /discipline for the rules you kept. A streak that builds from showing up, not from winning.
The day summary sits at the top of every entry, trades, P&L, the honest scoreboard. Below it, your own words. Over weeks, that pairing does something a spreadsheet never will: the patterns you can’t feel in the moment become obvious on the page. The coach reads the same record, so the entry you write tonight is the evidence it quotes back to you next month.

Took two trades on gold during London. First was clean...
London open went clean. Waited for the pullback to the 21 EMA and scaled out at TP2 before it rolled over.
Second entry I rushed — didn't wait for the 5m close. Stopped out small. Rule for tomorrow: confirmation before size.
Start the entry at the desktop after the session, finish it on your phone between sessions. Thirty seconds or thirty minutes, the journal follows you.
It’s not a tick-by-tick replay tool, and it won’t grade you automatically.
The journal holds the record; you bring the honesty. That’s the part that works.
