Tradestar vs Edgeful

Edgeful is the biggest stats library in the category, and it’s genuinely good at what it does. It has also never seen a single one of your trades. Tradestar counts the same market questions, then connects them to your fills, your journal and your prop firm’s rules.

The short version

Edgeful suits a trader who wants the widest possible market-stats library across thousands of tickers. Tradestar covers the same core questions for the futures a funded trader actually trades, and adds the journal, prop tracking and coaching that turn base rates into a kept account.

Comparison reflects publicly listed features as of Jul 2026. Edgeful’s paid plans run $49–249/mo depending on tickers, history and live data. Its AI analyses its market reports, not your trading. Its backtesting and prop pass-rate simulation apply to an uploaded backtest on its top tier, not a synced live account. We keep it fair; tell us if anything is out of date.

How the counting works

Same questions. Counted differently.

Edgeful lists 150+ reports. We publish 31. The difference is counting, not coverage: they treat every filter as its own report, so one question becomes many entries, by weekday, by size, by spike, by retracement. Count our variants the same way and 31 multiplies just like theirs does. We think that’s a lot of clicks, so each true question lives on a single pane with its variants inside, sorted by edge strength. You see the strongest tendency first instead of hunting for it across subreports.

Edgeful casts wider, thousands of tickers across stocks, forex and crypto. We went deeper instead: the US futures a funded trader actually trades, every rate conditioned by weekday, prior day and streak, drift-tracked when the recent window leaves history behind. Coverage you scroll past once; depth you trade off every session.

1One pane per question. ORB is one page, not nine reports.
2Variants inside: weekday, size, session, streak.
3Sorted by edge strength. Coin flips shown and labelled, on purpose.
Nothing to migrate

There’s no export, because it never held your trades.

Edgeful is market data only, so there’s no trade history to bring across and nothing to cancel first. Start Tradestar free, sync or import your fills, and your journal, prop gauges and Star Score build from your own record. Plenty of traders will run both for a while. The stats overlap; the journal, the drawdown tracking and the coach don’t exist there at any price.
