MT5 auto-sync

Tradestar Desktop connects live to your running MT5 terminal, polling every 10 seconds with live floating P&L.

Install Tradestar Desktop, keep MT5 open and logged in, and it connects directly, polling every 10 seconds for new trades and live floating P&L.

Pro feature

Broker sync requires a Pro subscription.

Setup

Install Tradestar Desktop if you haven't already.
Open MT5 and log in to the account you want to sync. Keep it running.
In the desktop app, go to Settings → Accounts → Add Account.
Pick MetaTrader 5, it auto-selects if we detect an MT5 install.
Click Connect MT5. Trades start flowing within 10-15 seconds.

What gets synced

Closed trades

Full history with real broker-reported profit, swap, commission. Backfills up to 90 days on first connect.

Open positions

Live floating P&L, refreshed every 10 seconds. Closing a position in MT5 updates it on the next poll.

Account info

Balance, equity, and broker server, always matching what MT5 itself shows.

Good to know

MT5 must stay open and logged in, sync pauses if you close it (new trades sync retroactively next launch). Only one account at a time: switching accounts in MT5 follows the new one, old history doesn't back-sync. macOS isn't supported yet, MetaQuotes doesn't provide a Mac Python interface for MT5.
